Last day.

So today was the last day of school before the February half term. I can't explain how excited i am to be able to lie in every morning and wear my own clothes every day. Bliss. The last day also means mufti day ( a day where you wear your own clothes). I was required to wear red because of my house colour. This was the perfect occassion to wear my new cheerleader skirt from Topshop, to which i have attached a dark brown fur trim due to the minuscule length it previously was. You have also probably noticed, i have a fringe now after a spontaneous, decisive moment on a long evening.
Cream Lace Blouse- H&M
Red Skirt- Topshop
Satchel- ASOS
Cream Brogues- Office

Much to my surprise, in 8 days will be my blog's first birthday! Thank you to all the followers who have encouraged me to keep on posting.

60s Shifts- Lesson 1.

Much to my excitement, we have started creating 1960s shifts in art in preparation for a Year9 catwalk in April. The project is based around screen printing in the form of bold patterns which will be displayed over our dresses. Although the dress is in a 1960s shape, our inspiration for the print is coming from Ballet Russes' designs which were created in the late 19th century-early 20th century. Here are some designs from the first lesson.

Last night, i went to see Black Swan which is, no doubt, one of the best movies i have ever seen. I will not inform of the thrilling plot but urge you to see it. I have never regarded Natalie Portman as an incredible actress, however, my opinion has definitely changed after viewing this film. She fulfils the role to its full potential and expresses every emotion through her face so believably. Her balletic skills also impressed seeing as she has not attended ballet classes since the age of 13. The costumes are also phenomenal, designed by Rodarte and Amy Westcott.
This is a shout out to Moni and Amber, the coolest chicks a live.

Family Celebrations.

Despite being ill, i flew to Scotland this weekend for my uncle's 50th birthday party. Equipped with my new buys from the January sales, choosing my outfits for the party and the remainder of the weekend was not a struggle. On saturday we hit the shops. We went into Dorothy Perkins to purchase some tights, however, when i came across a pair of nude courts with large bows on the back at the price of £12, i was pleasantly shocked and bought them immediately! Next, we came across a wonderful vintage shop called Electric Daisy. That night was the party; it was a wonderful occassion, dancing to old music and catching up with my Scottish relatives.

Sales.

The end of christmas day meant that a family consisting of three of the cutest babies came to stay with us for a few days. It was a brilliant two days spent revisiting my childhood memories. Once they left it was time to hit the infamous post-christmas sales. I went to Westfield and despite the busy atmosphere had a wonderful day scouring the rails for some bargains. Cos and Topshop were where i purchased: Sequined Skirt, Topshop. £65 reduced to £30.

Flower Neck Top, Topshop. £28 (not in sale)
Black Stripe Cream Shirt, Cos. £22.50 reduced from £45.

Christmas 2010.

Christmas arrived yesterday and what a wonderful day it was with presents, great food and family celebrations. The excitement of this fast approaching day had been looming and it certainly lived up to its expectations. I recieved mostly all of the much desired items that appeared on my 'Wish List' as well as a selection more chosen by my mother and of course, Santa. Although I no longer believe in Santa, on Christmas Eve I still wanted to leave out some carrots for the reindeer and mince pies for Mr Clause due to the tradition. Christmas is all about traditions starting from the order in which your family open their presents to the meal which is eaten on the day. Below are photos of my christmas day, all are taken with my new nikon d3100.Presents

Friday, 3 December 2010

I will update you with my latest editions of my newly-cleared out wardrobe, which i have bought since the start of December. Now that the advent period has started, the much anticipated Christmas is approaching sooner andsooner every time the little cardboard door is open.
1. Buttermilk Shirt Cape, Topshop.
I was amazed by this when i found it on the rails of Oxford Street's Topshop. I have been looking for a nude shirt and I love everything about this; the shape, buttons, collar and material.
2. Loose Blush in Rosy, Topshop.
I have always turned my nose up at Topshop makeup, however, whilst looking round the accesories at Oxford Street, the large make up range intriuged me. I found this blusher and absolutely loved the colour which would be ideal on a doll. The applicater was extremely easy and at only £8, i thought, why not?

3. Black Jumpsuit, H&MI have never bought a jumpsuit and seeing as they are set to be a hit this season, I decided it was about time to buy one. I really like this as it looks flattering on and can be dressed up and down depending on the occassion.

4. Peter Pan Top, New Look

When I found this, I fell in love. Peter Pan collars are my 'thing' and finding one in a cheaper high street shop like New Look is always exciting as i won't have to pay £40 for it.

5. Sheer Bow Pop Socks

These are so cute and i seriously need more accesories to add to my outfits.

Nikon D3100 which i know im definately getting as i was there when my generous father bought it.
