T4 Stars of 2010.

Today I went to T4 stars of 2010, a concert starring a variety of acts, with 5 friends. It was a brilliant day, although i do have a sore voice now. We were standing and unfortunately got separated, however, once we were all back together it was amazing. The singers and bands included Tinie Tempah, The Script, Pixie Lott, The Wanted, Tinchy Stryder, Professor Green and all lived up to the high expectations i had. As well as a concert, there was a mini fairground with waltzers and a giant slide.

Alexander McQueen SS11 (R-T-W)

Alexander McQueen's R-T-W SS11 collection was showcased at Paris Fashion Week. It was Sarah Burton's first catwalk show after the death of the designer, Lee. The collection based on nature was truly remarkable with a fairytale essence surrounding it. The breathtaking collection featured pheasant feathers, gold leaf detailing, snake skin, hourse hair and flowers. The dresses towards the end of the show were outstanding, capturing exaggerated silhouettes. The concotion of textures created a luxurious feel to all the pieces.
So what do you think of the collection? has Sarah Burton done well?

Vogue: November

The November edition of British Vogue arrived at my door today much to my excitement.
It felt almost as heavy as the September issue packed full of heavy knits, block colours and capes. I spent the next 30 minutes studying every page in detail to provide me with inspiration for outfits and update me on the must-have items this season. Although i found the basic cover a dissapointment, Lara Stone's editorial inside was amazing!
The editorial was based on a day at the English seaside and featured Lara in a number of cream vintage shifts and capes displaying her incredibly long legs, at Brighton Beach. The cute props included a vintage camera, candy floss and a tea-cup. The cream bag and kitten heels that appear throughout the shoot are undeniably lovely, however, i would have hoped to see a variety of accessories.

Recent buys.

In this month i have been attempting to stock up on autumn clothes and although i have sometimes been tempted to buy summery style clothes, i have done pretty well to kickstart my winter wardrobe. So here's what i've bought so far...

Red Skater Skirt
I love this topshop skirt as it is so heavy, pratical winter, but is still trendy. The colour is really vibrant and will brighten up my winter wardrobe. It also reminds me of an american cheerleader skirt! £32, Topshop

Earrings
These earrings are from H&M and are only £1.99 but look so vintage and cute! i just had to have them. Plus, i am trying to start a collection of bow earrings...

Navy Lace Skirt
I bought this skirt as i thought it was very elegant and would be suitable for the 1950s pencil skirt trend. I also needed a new navy skirt as i have worn my others to death.

Nude Silk Blouse
I love this blouse so much, it captures the sport- luxe trend perfectly althought it is very light and not suitable for the winter, it will certainly be one of my favourite autumn pieces. £35, Topshop.

Navy Wool Skirt
I bought this skirt thinking it would be appropriate for winter with its thick woolen texture, however, thick tights will certianly be needed as it's very short. I do really like this skirt but it was more bought for praticality and at only £14.99 from H&M i think it was a good buy!

Burberry Prorsum SS11

I'm back! After an extended holiday from the blogging world, i've finally got back into the swing of school life so have time to blog. My returning post will be on the R-T-W SS11 Burberry catwalk show that many celebrities lined the front row to watch, from Alexa Chung and Andy Murray to Sarah Jessica Parker and Anna Wintour. The collection called 'heritage biker' featured elaborate brightly coloured pieces contrasting with black separates and updated versions of the iconic trench coat. I personally do not feel this collection lives up to SS10 but do love the clashing colours and varied textures.
However, the extremely high statement shoes caused some disatrious events. It was 16 year old Nina Porter's big break after becoming the face of Burberry after Emma Watson, however, was one of the four models to trip in the shoes and subsequently had to remove them and carry on along the mirrored floor.

V Festival.

As usual a festival jammed packed full of celebrities comes along and they suddenly all lose their style and opt for boring 'festival style' outfits consisting of ripped denim shorts or a floral dress and wellies. However, two red-head celebrities managed to stand out from the crowd, Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine and Karen Gillan, Doctor-Who star.
Karen Gillian

i haven't ever really seen Karen Gillan out and around so have never experienced her fashion, however, she has certainly impresed me. She is one of the only people to have dared to wear heels and her upper half of the outfit feels slightly chanel inspired with the ruffled shirt and matching mini skirt and jacket.

Florence Welch

i have always been a fan of Florence's style on and off stage. I love the colours in this outfit which give an autumn feel as well as the leapord skin bag which is on trend this autumn/winter.

What do you think of Karen Gillan's and Florence Welch's outfits?

I felt like a completely dramatic change to my blog so have changed my layout. Hope you like it!

Paloma Faith

After watching Paloma Faith perform at the V festival in an amazing red dress with fringed-hem and headpiece my love for her has been reignited. The ex-magician's assistant has brought out a new song, 'Upside Down' which has the most amazing video featuring Paloma with pink lipstick and a brightly coloured feather cape, not her usual nautical colour scheme.

Dying hair.

As you may see in my photos my roots are growing back in after previously dying it so i have dyed my hair again, except lighter this time!

Crete.

Since it's the holidays and i have a lot to blog about, i will present the rest of my holiday in photos..

Crete 1.

Crete- Day 1
After 6 hours of travelling including car, plane and coach we finally arrived at our hotel, it was so lovely! seeing as we were extrmeley hungry ( i had not eaten since 5 in the morning and it was now 3 o'clock) we went straight to lunch just after visiting our family room and choosing the bed we much desired. Ate lunch i ate the ultimate holiday food, calamari followed by a chicken baguette. Not the best idea if you plan to put on your bikini straight after..
On our first day, being more tired than curious, we spent the rest of the day by the main pool and despite just applying the infamous sun cream i couldn't resist venturing in, after all lying on a sunbed without an uncharged ipod in 38 degrees heat is not the best holiday experience.

Crete- Evening 1
Choosing my outfit for this evening was a tricky one: i didn't want to wear my nicest outfits as i didn't have the tan for them, however, i didn't want to wear the worst outfits as first impressions certainly count. So i went for a skirt/ shirt combination with topshop clogs. Before heading out to dinner we went to the 'piano bar' on the outside terrace. It had an amazing view over the private beach and the hilly landscape. The evening entertainment for the night was 'Dance all over the world,' consisting of around 6 girls completing rapid costume changes to present different styles of dance, from the river dance to african dancing.
Shirt- United Colours of Benneton
Skirt- H&M (since i took it up, it is ridiculously short)
Clogs- Topshop

Holidays.

I've recently been shopping for my holidays (which on the one hand, at this point in summer is good as there are sales, and on the other is bad as autumn clothes now fill the rails), however, my day today will be spent packing, something which is a massive task for me and that i find extremely stressful as i don't know what strategies to use and what i will feel like wearing on the days. But of course with packing comes a holiday! and right now i desperately need seeing as autumn has arrived prematurely and every morning i wake in freezing conditions. I am going to Crete for just one week but with temperatures around 38 degrees i am hopeful to get a 'good' tan. This also allows me to say my goodbyes to the blogging world but i will be back in a week with a long post packed full of holiday photos!
